In this video, we’re going to discuss how Deshaun Watson is not going to face any criminal charges after nine women came forth in Texas and accused him of assault via massage therapy. So my name is Montay Lee, this is the Karat Juice Podcast, this news just broke. Yes, everybody was talking about this story when it first got dropped. And there was a lot of speculation that the star quarterback for the Houston Texas will have to be traded that he’d be facing a lot of prison time. And all and behold, we just talked about a case like this with Chris Brown with false accusations. And we’re going to continue on that topic with this story. So I’m going to go right to the report courtesy of TMZ because I don’t want to waste your time. So Deshaun Watson will not face criminal charges for alleged sexual misconduct in Texas.
Deshaun Watson will not face criminal charges in Texas in relation to accusations of sexual misconduct made by nine massage therapists. Nine of them. A grand jury determined today Friday, March 11 2020 to 26 year old Watson was accused of groping, touching himself and making inappropriate comments and requests by more than 20 women over the past few years. Watson’s case was presented in Harris County on Friday and the grand jury returned nine bills for each criminal complaint. The Harris County District Attorney’s office released a statement saying after a Harris County grand jury was presented all the evidence and had the opportunity to hear all the witnesses grand juries declined to indict Deshaun Watson, Grand Jury proceedings are secret by law so no information related to their inquiry may be disclosed. Worth noting. Prosecutors in Harris County are the only ones who presented a case in front of a grand jury. But Watson also face accusations in Georgia, California and Arizona. It’s unclear whether the woman in those states will pursue charges. Watson still has a long legal battle ahead of him as he’s facing a mountain of loss suits filed by his accusers, Watson has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and his attorney rusty Hardin claimed encounter encounters were consensual. The timing is crucial for Watson’s football career as the NFL free agency starts next week, Watson’s in the middle of a four year $156 million deal, but teams will be making moves and his criminal status will certainly make an impact on whether he finds a new home. It doesn’t mean Watson is out of the woods just yet. The NFL released a statement saying it’s still investigating. Now, I’m going to give my thoughts on this right now. In Texas, they put up nine complaints in Texas, nine of them. They all returned, no charges filed. We talked about this with the Chris Brown situation. Do you know what happens every time there’s false accusations that come out? And they are not true? Of course, it affects men in this situation, it could ruin your life. But like I said before, it affects women who are actual victims so much more. Because now anytime somebody hears one of these accusations, people are skeptical. It’s not believe all women. It’s listen to all accusations. Listen to everyone. Investigate, believe all truth. I’m skeptical whenever I hear anything now because this has become far too prevalent. Now he still has pending charges going on with the other areas. I’m only going to be discussing what’s going on in Texas here. But this is very damning, damning, and it’s just outright getting all too common. Where you see all of these accusations in this, like one woman makes an accusation. And before you know it, it’s it’s 10 of them, it’s nine of them. So, and I think if I remember correctly, all of these people were anonymous. So what I want to know what happens to all those accusers? If it’s actual evidence showing that it was not as false, what happens, should they be criminally prosecuted, it is my position that if you are found to be blatantly, blatantly lying, and saying that something was s a, or, you know, grape, and it wasn’t, you need to be held to that state, same standard of punishment, that the person that you are accusing is because it could ruin somebody’s life. So we just dealt with this with Chris Brown. Now we get this story about Deshaun Watson, this needs to stop the false accusations need to be held accountable, because when those are held accountable, we can take an actual accusation and of actual victims and put our resources in time on that so they can get the justice that they deserve all these people using these accusations as a money grab needs to stop and need to be it needs to be called out and talked about. So that’s my thoughts on this. Let me know what you guys think about this. I saw this and I just started shaking my head because I’m seeing this too much.
